Thought #1: Relationships can be maintained
I was sad in my last article because I have recently decided to stop teaching a number of my students. I would like to dedicate more time to personal projects and to trying to grow my business. Often, I enjoy teaching because I have developed a relationship with the student.
I realized today that I can still maintain the relationship even though I won’t be their teacher anymore. For example, two of my current friends used to work for me. Another third used to babysit my sister. These three friendships have lasted 10+ years despite the professional relationship coming to a close.
Thought #2: Ask myself what I’d do if I wasn’t scared
Here’s my hypothesis: often, the answer to that question is exactly what I should do. I’m guessing, though I’m not sure, that I’m allowed to have high selfish and selfless ambitions. I’m also guessing that there’s nothing wrong with making mistakes along the way and changing my mind.
It’s ok - don’t be scared.
Thought #3: Gujarati
I feel a certain obligation to make self-study materials for Gujarati learners. I have tentatively decided to make and publish more resources (videos, podcasts, maybe worksheets) for those learning the language to use. By reducing my teaching hours, I feel that I’ll have more time to do this.
Let’s see if I’m right.
Thank you for reading this. Here are some topics I plan to cover in future posts.
Continued updates on my business
Same goes for how I’m helping Gujarati learners
