I wrote a short message for tutors who work for me. I decided to share it publicly for a simple reason: I will soon be hiring more tutors. We’ve worked together for a number of years and you’ve been receiving training in the Fast-Track teaching method for a few months. With the recent changes at the Calgary Language Nerds, I wanted to share my vision for CLN tutors:
Ongoing training (2-5 hours a week). Let’s stay on the cutting-edge by doing ongoing professional development! I want CLN tutors to, objectively and measurably, be among the best language teachers that one could find on the market. Being “the best” means that students not only thoroughly enjoy their lessons, but also progress faster than they could than with other companies.
More work (at least 12 hours a week). I want everyone to be teaching at least 12 hours a week (some of you already do). Frankly, I would love to one day have full-time work available. It brings me great joy to provide work for others. It’s also much more fun to run a business when I get to work with other people I like :)
25% increase in pay. With the rate of progress in your training, I anticipate this happening by the fall. Excellence should be rewarded!
