How have you been? It has been a while since the previous newsletter. I hope all is well :) I have been busy as usual working on my business, practicing Mandarin, and spending time with friends and family. I have also been reading an interesting non-fiction book lately called The Gulag Archipelago. I would highly recommend it.
My business has been growing steadily and I am in a position to provide p/t employment to 2-3 more people. While it is not required, the ideal candidate is someone who resides in Calgary and is able to teach both in-person as well as online.
Job Details
→ Teach French and/or Spanish 1-1, to small groups of 2-3 people, and to larger groups up over 20 people
→ Work with students of varying proficiency levels and ages (kids and adults)
→ Teach online over Zoom or Google Meet
→ Teach in-person, if you are in Calgary
→ Prior teaching experience is an asset, but not required as ongoing training and coaching is provided
→ The peak hours for classes are Monday to Thursday between 4pm and 9pm, Saturdays between 8am and 2pm, or Sundays between 8am and 9pm. These time are all in Calgary time (Mountain Standard Time). You do not need to be available for all of these time slots. However, I do ask that you are available for at least 8 peak hours spread out over at least 3 days.
→ In the beginning, you will have 1-2 hours of work per week. Over time, I anticipate the hours to increase to up to 8 hours a week.
→ Hourly wage of $20 to $35 per hour for online classes and $25 to $35/hr for in-person classes.

→ Strong oral, writing, and reading skills in English
→ Strong oral, writing, and reading skills in French or Spanish
→ Excellent pronunciation in French or Spanish
→ Detail-oriented and organized
→ Friendly, personable, and easy to get along with
→ Reliable - your word matters to you
→ Responsive - you always reply to emails and texts
→ Comfortable using Zoom, Google Meet, Google Docs, Canva or Powerpoint, Excel or Google Sheets, and Google Calendar
→ Able to learn new softwares and technological products quickly
