So…you’ve reached an intermediate level.
How should you spend your self-study time? There isn’t necessarily a single best answer to this question, but today I’ll provide a simple and effective 5-day schedule for those that haven’t found a routine that works for them.
First of all, I recommend you read this article I posted yesterday.
In that article, I provided a suggested schedule for beginner language learners. Here’s a summary:
Mondays: Follow a structured course
Tuesdays: Work on listening/reading comprehension
Wednesdays: Work on grammar
Thursdays: Practice speaking
Fridays: Write
Those with an intermediate level can follow a similar schedule, with a few small modifications.
Mondays: Follow a structured course or work on grammar
Tuesdays: Work on listening/reading comprehension
Wednesdays: Work on listening/reading comprehension
Thursdays: Practice speaking
Fridays: Write
In other words, spend less time on structured courses and grammar practice. Instead, double down on reading/listening comprehension.
You are, of course, welcome to personalize the schedule I provided above to best suit your learning needs.
The amount of time you spend per day stays the same as for beginners.
Here’s a simple guideline:
Very intense: 90 minutes a day
Intense: 60 minutes a day
Moderate: 30 minutes a day
Casual: 15 minutes a day

A few final notes.
I recommend you read the post I wrote for beginners, even if you already have an intermediate level. It will be helpful
