Happy New Year!
Start 2022 off on the right foot with this challenge. Read on or watch this video.
Habit Tracker
A habit tracker is a document to track how many hours you’ve dedicated toward your target language. If you do not already have a way to track this, consider using this one that I made: https://azren.gumroad.com/l/language-habit-tracker
Resources
Ideally, you will want to use a mix of resources to improve your reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and listening. If you feel that you don’t know what resources to use and you are learning French, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, or German, consider picking up one of the language learning guides I’ve made: https://azrenthelanguagenerd.com/store. If you are learning a language not listed above and would like advice regarding resources, reply to this email and I’ll do what I can to help.
Why 250 Hours?
It is a manageable, yet challenging, number of hours to complete in a year. 250 hours equates to about 21 hours a month or about 5 hours a week. Best of all, by dedicating this amount of time you will experience reasonably rapid and noticeable improvements. Most language learners’ progress is only noticeable after long periods of time. It’s incredibly demotivating. Studying/practicing 5 hours a week will ensure you avoid this pitfall.
