My life has changed rapidly since August 23rd of this year. The changes started with this blog post. Here are the main things I focus on now that I didn’t before. I feel like my life is way better as a result of these 6 lessons.
Lesson 1: Take transformative action daily.
I ask myself the following question every day: “What could I do today that has a chance of quickly and radically changing my life for the better?” I then act accordingly.
A similar question I ask myself is, “What lever can I pull that would quickly and radically improve my life?”
This leads me to the next lesson.
Lesson 2: Work hard and focus.
Hard work is defined as, a great deal of effort or endurance.
Focus is defined as, an act of concentrating interest or activity on something.
In my case, I want to increase the amount of effort I exert every day (effort is defined as strenuous mental or physical exertion) and increase how much I focus/concentrate. I think pulling this lever will quickly and radically improve my life.
For many of you, this will also radically accelerate your progress in another language without spending any extra time on it. Concentrate more. Be more present. You’ll probably learn more.
Lesson 3: Venture into the unknown in the hope of finding treasure.
In other words, try new things. Sometimes this takes the form of embracing the spirit of randomness like when I posted this blog post yesterday. Other times, it involves tackling a fear. Last but not least, sometimes it involves honesty or vulnerability.
Lesson 4: Tell the truth and be vulnerable.
This is a form of “venturing into the unknown.” You really need to let go when you tell the truth and be vulnerable. Out of all the points I’ve mentioned in this blog post, this has been the one lesson that’s led to the most personal transformation the past few months.
Lesson 5: Be ambitious.
I used to think small because I was afraid of failure. I’ve let go of that. Who cares about the outcome. Just try.
Lesson 6: Be concise.
I can be too wordy and wishy-washy. I’ve been practicing getting to the point faster.
